Press Conference – September 15, 2026

The Families of Flight 5342 will hold a press conference calling for congressional action on critical aviation safety reforms and for the lessons learned from this tragedy to result in meaningful, lasting changes that help prevent another tragedy.

Senate Swamp – East Front of the U.S. Capitol

Washington, D.C.

Families of Flight 5342 representatives will be joined by Senate Commerce Committee Chairman Ted Cruz, NTSB Chairwoman Jennifer Homendy, and Air Line Pilots Association President Jason Ambrosi. Additional transportation leaders from both parties and both chambers of Congress are expected to attend.

All Flight 5342 and PAT 25 families who would like to attend are welcome. The speakers for the formal press conference program have already been set; however, members of the media are expected to remain available following the program. Any family members who would like to speak with the media or share their perspective will have the opportunity to do so at that time. There is absolutely no expectation or obligation for any family member to speak with the media.

Families are also welcome simply to attend and stand together in support of aviation safety and the shared goal of preventing another tragedy.

The event will be held outdoors. Families planning to attend are encouraged to arrive early and allow additional time for security and navigating the Capitol grounds.
