Robert Prewitt

Remembrance from Belinda Prewitt, Robert’s wife

My husband Robert “Rob” was on his way home from a work trip to be with his family when AA flight 5342 crashed mere feet from landing. We spoke over FaceTime while he was in Kansas waiting to board. Our little Girls Daisie and Dalila were so excited they couldn’t wait to show him the bat bags, gloves and helmets they got for the upcoming season. Rob was just as excited to watch them play.

Our oldest son would have been home to visit on Friday like he always did, in hopes of staying up late to catch up, talk about welding and plan for possible fishing trip while he was home. Fishing was Rob’s favorite thing to do. I believe Rob left the love of fishing with everyone he met. I find myself at the edge of the water often remembering all the good times we shared.

Rob was also a huge South Carolina Gamecocks football fan. I knew what our Saturdays would look like every football season. The boys all gathered around the tv watching. His friends now chant Do it for Rob whenever the Gamecocks are on tv. Rob was one of kind and made friends everywhere he went.

Family was the most important thing to him. His first priority was always his family He would rush home at every chance he got. He was the very heart and soul of our family. He put us first, always making sure each and every one of his kids had whatever they needed. He is dearly missed by all of us. Rob you are missed beyond words and forever loved Xxxxxx’s from your loving wife.
